Day 5~ a Kid in the Church Office.

snarky girl?
On Saturday, after the Prayer Breakfast, I went up to the Church office to do some things for the Jr NYI youth Group and, one of its members, this girl, was in the office. I said "Smile" and she gave this snarky looking grin!

She really is a sweet girl but one of the things I like about her is she can be a bit of smart aleck at times...and that makes me laugh!

Day 4 ~ Hurricane Sandy Aftermath

The wind blowing around our School Crossing Sign
Thank God we survived Hurricane Sandy without any damage. We lost power for a while but it came back on at 130am.  We lost our Cable Television but, who cares, we have the internet.  Above is a picture of a School Crossing sign right on our corner that became unhinged. The wind is still blowing and you can see it is slightly lifted.

Here is a side view; the wind is a'blowing!

and a back view, my house, still standing in the background!

a few blocks down, a street is closed due to the tilting power line

A neighbor, who sadly had this tree fall on their house.

The Little League Field bleachers blew over!

right by the Little League Field; the tree is peeled back like a banana!

We hope all is well with you and that Hurricane Sandy didn't treat you too bad!

See you tomorrow!

Day 3 ~ Praying at a Prayer Breakfast.

Pastor Del on the left, Steve in the center

We had a prayer breakfast last Saturday. One thing that I like about our Church is at prayer breakfasts, we actually pray! In the past, I have been to prayer breakfast which consisted of breakfast, a speaker and a very short opening pray. On Saturday, we prayed for many needs our Church and, specifically, for Hurricane SANDY, that little damage would be done.

When I posted this picture on Facebook, I took heat for taking pictures when I should be praying but, hey, what can I say, I can multitask ~ praying and picture taking all at once :)

A Real Photographer!

I know I am NOT a real photographer, although I do like taking pictures but from time to time I'd like to share some pics from real professionals! Something to inspire us all! Here are some pics from a professional photographer from Canada, Bee Chalmers Photography!

Scary, eh?
Great pics, huh? Maybe if I practice REALLY hard, I can get even somewhat close to this quality.

You can see more of this photographer's great pics at:  http://beechalmers.com/ or http://www.flickr.com/photos/78031780@N05/ and the ever important Facebook page:  http://www.facebook.com/pages/Bee-Chalmers-Photography/109791412397759

Day 2 ~ A Mouse's View

Our Church Sanctuary
My daughter, Sara, sent us an unusual request. She wanted us to take a picture of the Church Sanctuary from a mouse's perspective. So, yesterday, after prayer breakfast, I went into the Sanctuary, turned on all the lights and laid down on the floor with my camera phone and snapped this picture. I guess that is what a mouse would see, if he scurried along without anyone noticing him.

Just so you know, Sara is an Art student, in her senior year so I am sure that this is for something she has to draw for one of her classes.

Day 1 ~ a look back at summer

my crazy kids!

So, the plan is to upload a different picture everyday for one year! A nice goal, don't you think? The only criteria is if the picture is from my camera phone.

The first picture I want to post is of my kids when we went to the beach last summer. Since the kids are all adults now, it is hard to sync up our schedules to do things together.  So the above picture is a real treat!

Well, one pic down, 364 to go!
