Day 29 ~ A Memorial!

Every day when I come to work, I pass this roadside memorial to someone, I suppose, who perished at this site. When I was first shift and used to arrive before sunrise, there would be a candle burning as well. I have no idea who this memorializes but may they rest in peace and may their memory be eternall in the Mind of God.

See you tomorrow.

Day 28~ At The USO

The United Service Organization (USO) has served the military for a long time. They have a lounge at the airport and since I had to come to work early so as to bid on my work times, location and days off, I have a lot of time before my shift starts so I came here to rest.

See you tomorrow

Day 27 ~ It's NOT Christmas Yet!!!!

Last week, my wife and I were at a department store and we couldn't believe that Christmas items were on display already! C'mon, guys, let's wait a little bit.

Here is a video of the Christmas display.

Cute pillow for Halloween and even though we saw this at the end of September, it's better to see this than Christmas decorations.

See you tomorrow.

Day 26 ~ Sunday Morning Nazarenes

Here is Michael at the video screen, making sure the words to the hymns are on the screens so all the people can sing.  Doesn't he look good as a dog?

His father, James, making sure the sound is just right!

Pastor Del preaching. The pic is blurry because I had to zoom in from the back.  You can here his sermons here at http://www.trnazarene.com/

Here is a one second video of Michael. I thought I was taking a photo but, alas, it was  a video. There's a great group of people over at the Nazarene church and I am privileged to have known them for over twenty years!

See you tomorrow.

Day 25 ~ A Church Hall being Built

The Orthodox Church I attend is in the midst of a building project. And yes that is my car in the foreground . As you can see from the above picture, some progress is being made. The pics below (sorry they were no snap-chatted) show when it was just a concrete slab. I am glad they are doing this. I remember in the old hall they had an ant problem.

See you tomorrow.

Day 21 ~ Lunch at Olive Garden

Karen and I went to Olive Garden for a light lunch. I had the Soup and Salad special. Spent about as much money as if we went to a fast food place. It was a nice afternoon. Above is a picture on the wall which I liked it!

Day 18 ~ Alabaster Offerings

THE CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE dedicates two months a year - February and September - to raise funds, through loose change and coins, to build churches and hospitals around the world. The Toms River church places thier offerings in this little wooden church. They do good work.

See you tomorrow.

Day 17 ~ A Hostess Display

I went to Walmart this morning and I came across this display. I used to work for Hostess Brands and a part of me missing working for them. It was a long day but it went by fast. I enjoyed driving the truck and being on my own.  This is not to say I don't appreciate my current job at the airport but, every now and then, I wish I was a route salesman again.

See you tomorrow.

Day 16 ~ Pumpkins!

When I used to drive a Hostess Cake truck for a living , I used to buy small pumpkins like these and place one on the dashboard to get me in the Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving mood. Now that I don't drive for a living anymore , I don't have a place to put them and my car is too small. Oh, well ....I will just admire from afar.

See you tomorrow.

I pass this business every time I drive my son to work.  I'm pretty sure this sign went up right after 9-11. I respect people and businesses that NEVER FORGET!

Day 14 ~ Halloween Already?

Went to the store to pick up some things for the family and I took a picture of the Count, advertising Halloween candy.  He's actually been there since the end of August. Sorry, I think October 1st should be the earliest we see this guy. Next, we'll be seeing Santa Clause in October before Halloween!

I see I forgot the "y" in "display" Hey, I'm not perfect! :) I wonder if this candy will be stale before Halloween?

See you tomorrow.

It is always great to be with the family!

Day 11 ~ Never Forget! 9-11 Lives in Our Hearts!

On September 11th, the TSA observes two moments of silence at 8:46am  and 9:03am. Those are the times the planes hit the Twin Towers in 2001.  My only problem with this sign is the apology to the passengers for the brief interruption of service. No apology is needed to honor the moment when so many brave people lost their lives.

For me, like for so many others, 9-11 changed our lives and I re-enlisted into the military after that event so that I, too, could serve.

Never forget.

See you tomorrow.

Day 10 ~ I Love my Coffee!

We buy this coffee from BJ's Club Store. That should be "Whole beans," not "While beans,"....Yes, I made a mistake. Anyway, I love the taste of freshly ground coffee!

I usually have three cups in the morning!

Here is a video of my morning routine!

See you tomorrow!

Day 9 ~ It's Slurpee Weather!

Here it is September 9th and my car says it's 88 degrees...later it said 92 degrees...so I stopped at 7-11 and bought a slurpee

See you tomorrow !

Day 8 ~ From the back of the Church

I usually stand in the back of the Church during Divine Liturgy at the Eastern Orthodox Church because I have to shoot right out of there at the end of the service.  This is a picture I snapped . I love that Icon of Jesus.

See you tomorrow.

Day 7 ~ Dogs Hoping for Food

Karen was cutting up some chicken for her salad and the dogs hoped some would fall to the floor.  Sadly, for the dogs, my wife is much neater than me!

Route 9 can be very busy and most drivers are in a hurry . Well, we all had to stop this morning because these ducks had somewhere to go.

See you tomorrow .

CORRECTION: A friend on facebook pointed out that these are not ducks, but geese! Ok, I"m not that great on fowl recognition.

Day 3 ~ My Very Large Tree

This tree used to be small. But, over the years, it has grown!

Back in 2003, you can see how much smaller the tree was. This is a picture of my wife karen and I after I re-enlisted into the Air Force.  GO USAF!

When we first moved into the house, my wife could actually reach the top of the tree and place Easter decorations on it.....but I can't find that picture now.

See you tomorrow.
