Day 128 ~ The NEW Green Party Mascot!

My Computer Screen
I took a picture of my new background on my computer. I asked my daughter to draw me a NEW mascot for my annual Green Party that I have for the kids at church. I paid her fair and square since she is a starving artist!
NAME ME!!
Here is the original image that she drew. I am running a contest to name my NEW Green Party Mascot. A five dollar gift card to WaWa....go ahead and check it out and you can enter the contest too even if I only know you from the interwebs. I can mail you the gift card or if you don't have a WaWa near you, I can make it a different convenience store card. Here's the link  Click here!!!! Hope you enter the contest!

I said, NAME ME!!!!
And this is the version without the blushiies.  Isn't my daughter, Sara, a great artist? Why don't you go to her web comic page and take a look at her work. Pageviews = money for Sara and I've already established that she is a starving artist. Click here for Sara's work.

See you tomorrow.

Day 67~ New Years Celebration!

handing out the hats!
We all gathered at my friend's house to bring in the new year. Here we are in the living room, minutes before the big event....sure seems strange without Dick Clark this year, though.

James, not liking the hat so much
kids love noise makers
now, it's 2012....
...and now it's 2013!
Okay, not much difference but it was fun to bring in the new year with all my friends!
Happy New Year to you all! May 2013 bring you much prosperity!

When Karen and I used to host New Year's eve parties, I always put this song on right after midnight!

See you tomorrow!

Day 57 ~ Making Christmas Cookies!

Christmas Bells Before
Karen was asked to make sugar cookies for the children's party at church. It turns out it isn't that easy to make because the cookie dough sticks easily and is hard to work with.  But Karen soldiered through!

Christmas Bells after
The cookies weren't decorated at home. Instead, they were transported to church where the kids would spread icing and sprinkles on them!
Sprinkles for the cookies!

Sara helped out at the actual party so she sent these pics to me to show the progression of Christmas cookie fun.

Yum, ready to eat!

The kids had a blast, I know!
Merry Christmas!

See you tomorrow.

Day 51 ~ Church Christmas Party!

group shot of the party!
Last night was our church Christmas party! It was a lot of fun. We really packed them in the church basement. The food was great and the conversation was great too! Karen, my wife, arrived a bit late because she had been in the city that afternoon to watch "The Nutcracker" with her mom and her niece.
Sometimes our church will have a Christmas party in a restaurant  but I like it much better on our church premises.

a kid wearing my tie
My wife pointed out that my tie didn't match my shirt (I have terrible coordination skills) so I took the tie off and handed it to the kid at the next table. "Put this on" I told him so he decided to make himself look like a ninja! Nothing says Christmas like Ninja!

See you tomorrow!
