Day 182 ~ Blockade!

Parcheesi excitement!

For Daniel's birthday celebration at his grandmother's house, they played Parcheesi. Daniel, the yellow pieces, set up a blockade which annoyed everyone. So much so, that he lost the game because everyone was gunning for him.

Day 127 ~ A Very Short Monopoly Game!

A Classic Family Game

We decided to play monopoly last night, which is rare for me because I have such a short attention span.  We were twenty minutes into the game when Karen couldn't find her phone. She was afraid that she might have dropped it in the parking lot of Wendy's so we had to end the game short and go look for the phone. After driving down there, we discovered the phone had not fallen in the parking lot as we feared, nor had it been thrown into the garbage (Yes, I did check) but was in the car all along- stuck between the folds of the sun visor. 

So the game was short but we are happy we found the phone. The game is still set up so we can finish it today, hopefully.

Day 110 - A kid and a Video game

This kid is in the church basement during coffee hour playing a game called "Skylander." I have no idea how it is played but this kid seemed to like it.

Somehow, this is a character in the video game and it somehow interacts with the game in the kid's hand. surely don't understand it!

Day 75~ Family Card Game

I very rarely play games but my family forced me into last night. We sat around and played Phase 10. We didn't actually finish the game because I usually zone out by 9pm. Waking up everyday at 4am is a hard habit to break after 24 years so I don't stay up late.Instead of my family continuing the game without me, we are to continue the game sometime later today. By the way, I am losing but you probably already guessed that.

Day 40 ~ O Christmas Tree Kid! O Christmas Tree Kid!

The Winner of the Christmas Tree Relay!

Yesterday, I showed you our Christmas tree being decorated. Today, I will show you a kid being decorated as a Christmas tree.  Last Sunday, at our Jr NYI group (A youth group for kids at our church), we had a St. Nicholas theme, where we learned about the real Santa Clause, Bishop Nicholas of Myra and the great things he did.  One of the games that we did before our discussion of St. Nicholas, was a relay race. Two teams raced to hang up paper ornaments on the Christmas Tree Kid. The Team with the most ornaments, wins! 

The kids loved it!

They even taped the ornaments in her hair but she didn't complain!

By the way, I had the kids color the ornaments before the game. It keeps them busy and it seems kids love to color!
