OKAY, IT'S OFFICIAL .... I QUIT....

A bit disappointed...

As you can see, I didn't get "back into" doing my daily blog. The main reason is I lost my phone which took quality pictures so until I get a better phone, I will not complete this project....hopefully, I will  still do Days 343 - 365 thus making it a complete year of pictures....thanks for everyone for supported my blog by your "likes" on facebook and your comments.

Day 342 ~ Protesters

Back when I was "taking a break" from my daily phone pic, I came across these protesters who wanted to impeach the President. I had seen these guys before with signs about the President's involvement in Bengahzi. Now, I certainly understand why some people want to impeach the President but I don't think these protesters are going to convince many people when they put a Hitler Mustache on President Obama. People don't take you seriously when you call them Hitler.

Day 341 ~ Matthew's old job

 Matthew got a new job, closer to home so Karen and I don't have to drive so far in order for Matthew to go to work! I took a picture of Matthew's old job place, on the day we went to pick up his last pay check. He was there for four years so I know there is a bit of a transition to his new job but it is worth it because instead of driving 30 minutes we now only have to drive 5 minutes!

Day 340 ~ Christmas Too Early!

I went to Michael's Craft Store to buy some feathers for a Jr NYI game (JR NYI is a kid's club at church) and I was annoyed to see all the Christmas stuff out now. I bet it has been out since October. It's enough to make a man say Bah, Humbug!

Day 339 ~ Me with a Football

One of the good things about losing my phone is, by using my old phone, I get to see a bunch of pics that I forgot about which I left on my phone. This is a picture we took at my wife's aunt's house. If you know me at all, you know that I can NOT play sports but it's fun to pretend, I guess. This picture is fitting because my wife and I just started watching the show Friday Night Lights which is about Texas High School Football. We love the show!

Day 338 ~ Bummed- I lost my phone!

I don't know where I lost it, but my phone is gone. I think I might have placed it on a counter at the airport while I was buying coffee or I dropped it somewhere. So I am using my old phone again. It doesn't take as nice pictures but it'll do. I also can't find my watch....go figure!

Day 337 ~ Honor Society for my Son!!

Because of Daniel's excellent grades, he was accepted into the PHI THETA KAPPA Honor Society.

Day 336 ~ Car Trouble

In mid-October, I had to get my car inspected and it turned out, in order to get the Check Engine light to go off, I needed a new catalytic converter. Well, after I drove for 20 miles the Check Engine light came back on. Mike, my mechanic, ran the codes through his computer and it turns out the catalytic converter he put in was faulty. So, here is a picture of my car sitting in his lot, waiting to get fixed.

Turns out the 2nd new catalytic converter is good but now a light went out for another reason.(coolant code and O2 sensor code)...go figure. Mike says to wait the two years before the inspection is due again so he can take care of the Check engine light. Oh, the joys of owning a car.

Day 334 ~ Free Meals for Vets!

Applebee's always has a FREE MEAL for any Veteran's so Karen, Matthew, Daniel and I went out for an early dinner. Good thing we got there at 4pm because just one hour later, the place was packed! I had a steak with a baked potato.The waiter must have realized that Karen was keeping the Home fires burning 
while I was deployed to the Gulf in 1990 because she got a FREE MEAL, too!

Day 333 ~ Marine Flag

My father-in-law is an ex-Marine so, in honor of Veteran's Day coming up tomorrow, he put out the Marine Flag. I guess once a Marine, always a Marine. 

He kept it attached to his fence with clamps and clothes pins.

Day 332 ~ Discount for Marathon runners

I saw this sign at the Airport where I work. It was in front of a coffee shop that serves pretty good coffee. This was up right after the New York City Marathon took place and the store, called Vito's wanted to reward all the runners who finished the race. Pretty cool, eh?

Day 331 ~ Rebel Car

Driving around with my son Daniel, we saw a truck ahead of us with an American Flag and a Confederate Flag with  Jersey plates. For the life of me, I  can't understand why he'd drive around like that up here in the North....maybe because he's in SOUTH Jersey.

Day 330 ~ Shoe Train

 Last Sunday, after Children's Bible Quizzing, I was hanging around talking to some teachers and parents and, as can be expected, kids played around the church while we talked.  I went into the nursery where I saw all these shoes lined up and and I asked one of them What is this? The girl told me it was a shoe train.

Of course it was. What else could it be?

Kids are great because they always look for ways to entertain themselves. We can learn a lot from them.

Day 328 ~ Monmouth Battlefield has gone to the Dogs

Our dogs haven't been out in a while because of Karen and I's schedule so when we both were off on the same day, we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and take the dogs to Monmouth Battlefield State Park. They put up a new building there which, quite frankly, is an ugly eyesore. In that building they got theater seats facing the battlefield (for the re-enactments, I suppose.) Dumb idea, I think.

So we are responsible dog owners and clean up after out dog. I guess We are supposed to carry the waste with us all day.

 We let Margaret off leash for a little bit and she loved it. As you can see, she likes chasing after balls we through. Karen complains that she throws like a girl, which is alright for her. Sadly, the same can be said for me.

 Libby loved to sniff and was having a great time!

We kept her leash on while she ran so we could grab her quickly if we had to. She is a big chicken and didn't venture to far away from us anyway.

We had a great time and hope to do something like this again soon, even if we do hate the new building they put up.

Day 327 ~ YES, I'M BACK ~

On Sept 17th, I said I was taking a break from My Daily Phone Pic because I was just about to start my new job at the TSA and I still had a month left on my Medical Billing and Coding Course. I said that after I finished my course, I'd be back so HERE I AM! I thought the best way to celebrate my return is with a goofy selfie. I help teach a class at church for Bible Quizzing for kids and, for some reason, this cut out was in the fellowship hall so I had one of the kids take my picture.  Looks nice, eh?

I did well on my course overall. The grades aren't back yet but I know I at least got a "B" even though I've been carrying an "A" for the entire course. The last week's three hour test was a tough one but we'll see how I did.

So it's good to be back....only 38 more posts to complete my year long project!

I recently got hired by the Transportation Security Administration for a part time position but it requires one month of full time training. Also, I am taking an intensive Medical Coding Course which will be ending in November SO until my training is over, I will have to take a break from my beloved phone blog. Day 326 ~ Navy Bread

A friend of mine owns a Nature's Own bread route and one of his stops is at the Navy Weapons Station in Colt's Neck. Normally, he doesn't carry a lot of bread because sales are slow but he told me that, because an Admiral was going to visit, the Navy Exchange store wanted to have a FULL SHELF.  I show hope the Admiral buys some bread.

Day 321~ 9-11 Revenge?

Karen and I were out and about this evening and I came across this written on the back of someone's car.  I wonder who he wants us to nuke?  I sure hope he doesn't mean the Syrians! Anyway, on this day, 9-11, we remember our fallen fellow countrymen who died for no other reason than we were hated. God grant the victims rest, the families solace and may those who have such hatred in themselves have their own hearts turned.

Day 320 ~ My Buddy Larry

Since I am unemployed I have lots of time on my hand so I went with Larry when he was working on his bread route. Larry is a long time friend from my Hostess days. He sold Wonder bread while I sold cake. But we were in the same depot and sometimes I even rode with him while he sold wonder bread even though I was just a Hostess cake guy....ah, the good ole days!

Day 319 ~ Dogfest 2013

 Karen and I love taking Libby and Margaret to dog events. This past Sunday was Dogfest sponsored by the Brick township Chamber of Commerce. We love seeing all the dogs and talking to dog-people because people who love theirs enough to take them to events like this are really great to talk to!

Day 317 ~The Best Salad maker I know!

Here is a picture of my father-in-law at the supermarket, taken by his son while he was visiting. Michael sent this pic to me to show how he was shopping with his father. Day 316 ~ Notes about Dogs

The Note

 I had to get up early and leave the house so I fed the dogs before I left. Well, we don't want to overfeed the dogs so I made sure that I left a note for Karen to let her know they both ate.  When I cam home later, I found she wrote the work "Okay" on the note and drew a picture of a dog. I guess that one is Libby, our dachshund.

Day 314 ~ School Clubs

While waiting for Daniel to get out of his class, I sat and looked at all the tables of all the college clubs who are trying to get people to join them as the new school year begins. I think that is called "Rush Week," isn't it?

Day 313 ~ Cup Confusion

We went to Karen's Parent's house for a bar-b-que where we had delicious burgers, chicken and hot dogs. Of course, I overate. Well, I go to grab a drink and see the cups all stacked up so I grab one, pour the water and start drinking. My father-in-law asked, "Why are you drinking out of the wrong cup?" I had no idea what he was talking about until I saw the word "Mom" written on the cup with a sharpie. He had actually written everyone's name on the cup ahead of time and, I, of course, took the wrong one.

If you ask me, that is a little too much preparation for a humble bar-b-que what, then again, what do I know.

Yes, all night long people refered to me as "mom" while my mother-in-law had to suffer the indignity of drinking out of a cup named "Jim."

Day 312 ~ Found money....My own!

So I go to Petsmart to buy Libby her dog food, especially formulated for Dachshunds and after I put the food in the car, I go back to return the shopping cart. I found my money on the ground. I am glad it wasn't windy or I'd never see those 8 bucks again.
