Day 14 ~ Paying off a bet....

hanging my head in shame because I lost the bet...
Hey, what can I tell you, I pay off my debts....I bet $20 that Romney would win while my friend Steve backed Obama....Well, we all know how that turned out so here I am handing Steve his twenty bucks. I must say, Steve was very gracious and not like some of my facebook friends who were gloating and boasting  all over my wall about the election.  Congratulations, Mr. Obama. I didn't vote for you and I really think your policies are going to destroy this country but, you won fair and square and you are what the American people want.

The money before I handed it to Steve
I told Steve in some ways paying him $20 was a good thing. I need to get used to losing money, now that Obama got reelected....!

Day 12 ~ How I learned the results of the Election.

the picture by my coffee pot
I go to sleep early since I usually wake up at 230am to go to work so I told my wife, If Romney wins put a smiley face next to the coffee pot, if Obama wins, put a sad face next to the coffee pot and if it is undecided, then put a question mark next to the coffee pot.

This is what I found.

I have to say, it is very depressing to know that our country is fundamentally transformed from the values it had at its founding.

Day 11 ~ Today We Voted!!!!

I marked Romney, as you see! Sorry, Barry

As you can see, I voted for Romney/Ryan just like I said I would! There were also school board members to be voted on plus two public questions.  My son, Daniel, asked, "Is it legal to take pictures inside the voting booth?" I honestly don't know but I figured if I didn't ask the poll workers, then I wouldn't knowingly break any rules.

I got home early today so that I could vote with my son Daniel, his first election and my wife Karen.  Justin, my other son, already voted!  I never like to miss voting, even on "off" years. I figure I have no right to complain about anything if I don't participate!

By the way, if you didn't vote yet, go ahead and do it! There is still time!!

GO ROMNEY!!!
but, of course, you should vote your conscience. :)

me pressing the "Cast Vote: button to make it official!

Daniel and I walking to the polling place!

posing, at his mother's request! He is such a good son!

Hey, I vote here today!

Karen, doing her civic duty!

VOTE TODAY!!!!

You know who I'm voting for....make sure you vote too!

This blog will be updated later with my daily pic; it will be election related!

Day 10~ Something to Remember this Election Season

I have the responsibility at my church to change the sign in the front by the highway. My kids remind me that I don't change it often enough but that's another story.  Well, with Election Time upon us and all those annoying Campaign ads, I thought that this would be a good message to get out.  "Jesus Loves You" is a good thing to remember, especially if your candidate loses this Tuesday!

For my international readers, you should know that our laws insist that in every political commercial the candidate has to say in his or her own voice, their name and that they approve of the message. (example:
25 seconds of annoying plea for vote, then in the final 5 seconds, we hear, "I'm John Smith and I approve of this message").

I think it's a stupid law but that a discussion for another time....

Thanks, Stacy, for giving me the idea for this sign.

Day 7~ "My Daily Phone Pic" Blog issues its Political Endorsement

I did some early voting at 7-11

With the election just days away, we at the "My Daily Phone Pic" blog want to join other blogs and newspapers issuing their endorsements for the President of the United States.  While not having the prestige of the New York Times or Washington Post nor possessing the readership of popular political blog/ websites like The Huffington Post or the Drudge Report, we still want to join the fray and lend our opinion! So here it goes.
To us, the choice is clear:

Romney 2012

I have to admit, that Governor Romney was not my first choice because to me, he wasn't a conservative so by supporting Romney in the beginning I was actually just voting against Obama. Since his inauguration I knew that his massive spending would not help the economy nor create jobs like he promised. Nor do I like his infringement upon Religious liberties in imposing his view that Roman Catholic Organizations MUST provide birth control to their employees. And, for crying out loud, our taxes will soon sky rocket when Obama Care is fully implemented. So,as I said, in the beginning, I was voting against Obama.

But  the Governor has grown on me these past few weeks and he sounds more conservative and I am hoping that he is not just speaking conservative to get "conservative" votes. Romney's message is positive and now I find myself voting FOR Romney, not just against Obama.

So we hope you do your civic duty and vote this Tuesday. And while you are in there, with the curtains closed, go ahead and pull the lever for Romney. Maybe, then, we can reverse some of this hope and change

And if you are afraid that by voting for Romney your friends will make fun of you, go ahead and do it anyway; they'll never know...:)

That's what is great about secret ballots.
